Dog Boarding Kennel Facilities
Storm’s Ahead Kennel and Pet Resort is conveniently located in Nunica, Michigan just a short drive from both Muskegon and Grand Rapids. Our kennel, training grounds, and home are nestled on 10 acres with multiple ponds available for your pet’s boarding playtime enjoyment. We provide unconditional love and devotion during your pet’s “vacation stay”.
All indoor areas of our facility are comfort controlled with air conditioning for those hot summer days and kept cozy warm through the winter. We offer forty-two indoor individual spacious runs. Limited indoor runs also offer an additional individual outside “patio” run accessible through and insulated sliding door.
Things To Know
Our entire inside kennel is disinfected daily and each run is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in between visiting guests.
There is no need to bring dishes from home, we use our own stainless bowls and water buckets that are sanitized between each dogs use.
We do ask that you bring our dog’s regular food in a plastic storage bin. There is no one brand of food that we could feed that would satisfy the needs for all of our guests, maintaining their consistent diet will reduce the chance of digestive issues. You may bring individually portioned meals in baggies or bulk food in a bin.
To make your pet feel more a home you are welcome to bring bones, treats or a few toys. Bedding from home is also accepted, however, if your dog is prone to chewing on bedding it will be removed. Rubber mats are provided or an orthopedic cot is available for an additional charge.
We do not require that dogs are spayed or neutered to board at our facility but they MUST be dog friendly.
Interactive Playtime
Social dogs can engage in friendly group play to burn off some pent-up energy. There’s plenty of room to run, play and even swim in one of our five fenced play yards.
For the dogs that prefer a little less activity, we also offer individual outdoor time.
Our four legged furry guests pull their humans right up to our doors, eager to join the fun! Playtime relieves separation anxiety, improves social skills with both humans and other dogs, and your pet goes home a happy tired pooch!!
Vaccinations
For the safety of all of our furry friends ALL Dogs must be current on DHLPP, RABIES and BORDATELLA (KENNEKL COUGH), current flea preventative is strongly advised.
*We can administer flea control or give Heart-worm Preventative if scheduled during your pets vacation.
Puppies
We can accommodate puppies as young as 8 weeks old. However, even though the risk is low there is still a chance of infectious disease without a completed series of vaccines.
Hours
Monday – Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sunday: Noon – 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

We offer morning and evening drop off and pickup. NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR SUNDAY APPOINTMENTS.
Rates
Kennel Boarding Prices: $30 per night for one dog. Multiple dogs from same household: $30 per night for the 1st dog. $25 per dog per night after that if boarded together in SAME run. $30 per dog per night if in their own run. However, “siblings” do squabble sometimes, therefore may be separated at kennel attendant’s discretion, resulting in full charge rate for each dog.
